DRUMS, GIRLS AND DANGEROUS PIE: BY JORDAN SONNENBLICK

Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie
REVIEW:*****

I gave this book five out of five stars. It was very sad when Jeffery is diagnosed with Leukemia. I like how the plot line was different and had kids really understand how bad leukemia is. It lets them know what a kid goes through when they have cancer. I also liked how the author has the character a boy and how a boy acts. It is interesting because a girl, once they read this book, knows how the author put the boy’s thinking into it. You can understand what this boy character is.

SUMMARY:

Steven’s life is pretty much normal until his little brother, Jeffery, has developed cancer. He has a chance of a lifetime in playing drums, the girl of his dreams doesn’t even pay attention to him, and because of Jeffery’s condition, Steven is so worried about him and, Steven doesn’t pay enough attention in school. His grades are plummeting and his mother isn’t home to take care of Steven.  His dad is dealing with his work while Jeffery is being treated. You get to find out what it is like being a boy if you are a girl. Read to find out more, I recommend it!
